Join us on our optional tours: From Progreso, visit the fascinating ruins of CHICHEN ITZA with its towering 92-step pyramid led by LDS guides from Mexico. In Cozumel, explore the ruins of SAN GERVASIO and then take a scenic drive along the seldom-seen eastern coast of Cozumel as we travel to the incredible DISCOVER MEXICO PARK with its miniaturized replicas of many pre-hispanic buildings. Chichen Itza has been selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After savoring this popular Mayan ruin it will be easy to see why! This is one of the most amazing sites in the Yucatan area and is a real adventure to experience. At least two vastly different time periods are evident in the structures we will see. The famous temple of the warriors with its thousands of pillars and the observatory are some of the most photographed ruins in the world along with “El Castillo”—one of the tallest pyramids in Mexico. The large ball court is sure to fascinate sports enthusiasts and spectators alike.
All shore excursions are optional and may be purchased separately from the cruise rate.
