HEADLINERS:Roger P. Minert Ph.D.

Roger P. Minert is a professor of Church history and family history at Brigham Young University, specializing in central Europe. He has studied all things German since he was eleven and is classified as a native speaker of German. During his six years in Germany and Austria, he has traveled more than 100,000 miles, much of that as a tour guide. His publications include 120 books and articles, among them two books on the LDS Church in Germany in World War II: Under the Gun and In Harm’s Way. In 2010, In Harm’s Way: East German Latter-day Saints in World War II won the Mormon History Association’s Geraldine McBride Woodward Award for Best Publication in International Mormon History. Roger’s wife, Jeanne, also graduated in German at BYU where they met. They have four daughters and nineteen grand-children and reside in Provo.
