Richard Neitzel Holzapfel, Ph.D.

RICHARD NEITZEL HOLZAPFEL is a professor at BYU and with his wife, has written several articles and books focusing on the New Testament and LDS history. Richard and Jeni attended Brigham Young University as undergraduates. Later, Richard attended Hebrew Union College, and University of California Irvine. After coming to BYU (1993), they lived in Israel where Richard taught at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Later, Richard and Jeni directed the BYU Study Abroad program in Rome and Athens (2009) before taking a leave of absence from the university to preside in the Alabama Birmingham Mission (2010-13).
